Ariel was one of the first models I shot with the Image Softtone film, back before I was thinking of it as a project. I’d always shot Polaroids, partly because I loved them and also because the models really enjoyed it. I also shot Ariel that day with Polaroid 669 film, my Holga, and some other camera. After I’d done a number of shoots with the Softtone film I started to see it as the beginning of a series. I’m really grateful to the earlier models like Ariel, the good results we got are what encouraged me to continue with the project.
