This is a shoot that really reinforced to me how much of a difference good light makes.Gabrielle collects vintage lingerie and I thought it would be fun to shoot at her place, so we’d have all of her wardrobe right there. It turned out that her apartment didn’t have enough light for the way I shoot though. We tried some other spots in the building, I even broke out a flash at one point out of desperation. But I wasn’t really liking any of the light.Then we found this window in one of the staircases, and it had lots of the soft window light I really love. The difference in the results I was getting was huge, I noticed immediately how much better the images were. We ended up shooting a couple of the outfits there and got some lovely images.
